Installing a Clip-On with a Through-Lever Adaptor directly onto the scope is the only mounting option when there is insufficient Picatinny rail length in front of your daytime scope for installing a Clip-On using the QR mount and Light Suppressor Set.
Through-Lever Adaptor is also the most precise way of installing Clip-On units with the most exact zero repeatability. The adapter ensures the perfect centering of the Clip-On Unit with the daytime scope, which is essential for long-range shots. If you are a long-range shooter, and you want to achieve greater precision, please consider using a Through-Lever Adapter, at least for your most accurate rifle.
The most common example of this set-up is a bolt-action rifle which, after hunting a deer before the sunset, you need to quickly re-equip for shooting a hog or a coyote at night. It is a really fast and easy conversion.
The adaptor screws directly onto the Clip-On, slips over the scope's objective lens hood, and tightens with the through-lever.
Once a Clip-On is zeroed on your daytime scope, it maintains its zero when removed and reattached.
Adapters are available in custom-made sizes, ranging from 30mm to 80mm. To select the correct adapter size, measure the external diameter of your daytime scope's front lens hood with a caliper. Precision is crucial, as a difference of a thousandth of an inch matters. Daytime scope front lens hood sizes are traditionally measured in millimeters (mm). If you do not have a caliper with metric units, please note that 1 mm equals 0.0397 inches. If the diameter you measured matches one of the most common sizes, you can select the size and order the adapter.
If your daytime scope's lens hood size is not listed, please select the “Custom Size” Adaptor option, place your order, and reply to the order confirmation email with the exact diameter of your daytime scope's front lens hood. Adapters can be custom-made to any size, with sizing precision up to the tenth of a millimeter to ensure the best fit. Accuracy in your measurements is encouraged.
